Visited Ntombini’s house for the first time. She lived with 4 children. She acted so shy as if we were the first visitors ever.

But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

Acts 4:19‭-‬20

What could be a factor for us to deny Jesus’s command?

Peter and John were speaking to elders and leaders including the high priest.

When they were asked to be silent about Jesus Christ, they simply answered, “Is it right to listen to God or you?”

We know the answer, but there are many things that scare or stop us from doing what is certainly right in the eyes of the Lord.

Those include fear of authority, violence, cultural norm, gossip, reputation or even awkwardness.

When we know we should do something, we started to calculate the risk first such as, ‘How it will affect my relationship?’ or ‘What will happen to me?’

What do you think? In God’s eyes, which is right? Succumbing to the fear or do the things that are right for the Kingdom of God?
