Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

Let’s say you found your child lying about money that went missing. He stole it. As a mother, you are more concerned why he does such a thing than missing money. Your heart breaks as you see your child making a mistake and further you will do anything to stop him from digging a bigger hole for himself. Why? Because you know it is wrong. You love your child and you want the best for your child.

That is God. He is our father. He knows what is best for us. And his heart breaks when we sin. It drives us further from God.

Do not sin. Throw away that makes you do so.
